Ateliere de scriere dramatică cu Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk şi Esteve Soler: Artă + Dialog - Open call FITS 2013

Festivalul Internaţional de Teatru de la Sibiu deschide selecţia participanţilor pentru două ateliere de scriere dramatică cu autorii Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk şi Esteve Soler, care vor avea loc în perioada 9-15 iunie 2013, la Sibiu. Participarea la ateliere este deschisă tuturor celor interesaţi de scrierea de piese de teatru sau de scenarii pentru film.

Data limită: 30 mai 2013

Îi invităm pe cei interesaţi să trimită cu scurt C.V. cu proiecte anterioare şi un fragment de 8-10 pagini dintr-un text în lucru (piesă de teatru, scenariu de film, proză, poezie) sau un video link la un spectacol de teatru sau film realizat de ei. Participanţii trebuie de asemenea să aibă cunoştinţe de limba engleză.

Pentru mine este importantă în primul rând gândirea independentă. Lupt pentru o gândire care nu urmează cărările bătătorite, îşi caută propriul drum, pe căi imprevizibile. Mă interesează o perspectivă nouă, proaspătă şi surprinzătoare, asupra temei pe care o tratează piesa. Caut o abordare atipică a personajelor, o formă nouă pentru piesă în ansamblul ei, prin care scena devine un loc al imaginaţiei. Deoarece îmi place ca, în ceea ce scriu, să analizez personaje istorice reale (aşa se explică piese precum Moartea Omului-Veveriţă / Ulrike Meinhof, Caterina de Medici, Bruno Schulz: Mesia, Cehoslovacia dispărută / Marta Kubisova, Primarul / Krzysztof Godlewski, Popiełuszko) aş dori ca, în timpul atelierelor, să prezint etapele metodei de gândire "think opposite". Acestea vor consta în analiză şi exerciţii de scriere pornind de la exemple de personaje remarcabile ("eroi ai vremurilor noastre") din lumea politică, a afacerilor, artistică.

Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk este dramaturg şi scenarist. A absolvit Facultatea de Jurnalism şi Ştiinţe Politice, precum şi Studii de Gen la Universitatea din Varşovia. Este de asemenea absolventă a Programului de Scenaristică a Şcolii Superioare de Film, Televiziune şi Teatru "Leon Schiller" din Łódź. A debutat în 2004 cu piesa Psihoterapie pentru Câini şi Femei la Teatr Rozmaitości din Varşovia. Piesele sale au fost citite şi jucate în numeroase ţări printre care Polonia, Suedia, Germania, Austria sau S.U.A - Scrinteală, Moartea Omului-Veveriţă, >Caterina de Medici, Primarul, Valiza, Om din Polonia în ciocolată, Cehoslovacia dispărută, Bruno Schulz: Mesia, III Furii, Popiełuszko, etc. Piesele sale au fost traduse în peste zece limbi şi puse in scenă de regizori precum Jan Klata, Marcin Liber sau Michał Zadara. A primit numeroase premii şi distincţii precum Marele Premiu şi Premiul Publicului la Concursul Metafore ale Realităţii în 2008, Marele Premiu al Festivalului Dwa Teatry din Sopot în 2009, Premiul Bohemia 2012 (Cehia). În anul 2012, pentru piesa Popiełuszko, i-a fost acordat prestigiosul Premiu pentru Dramaturgie din Gdynia.

Timp de patru zile, participanţii vor învăţa metodele diferite şi fascinante a patru autori dramatici care trebuie să aparţină categoriei "noii clasici". În acelaşi timp, vor încerca să le imităm stilul printr-o serie de exerciţii care vor fi prezentate în faţa unui public.

Esteve Soler este autor dramatic, absolvent al Institutul de Teatru din Barcelona şi al Sălii Beckett, unde în prezent predă cursuri de scriere dramatică. Din 2008, trilogia alcătuită din piesele Contra progresului, Contra iubirii şi Contra democraţiei au fost traduse în 9 limbi - engleză, franceză, germană, română, spaniolă, greacă, italiană, daneză şi cehă -, în timp ce aproape 40 de regizori au oferit propria interpretare ale acestor piese în ţări precum Germania, Anglia, Statele Unite ale Americii, Franţa, Elveţia Austria, Grecia, Venezuela sau Chile. A făcut parte din selecţia oficială a festivalelor Theatertreffen şi Literaturfestival, ambele desfăşurate la Berlin, şi a fost de două ori participant al festivalului La Mousson d'Été din Franţa. Alte piese ale lui au avut premiera la teatre importante din Catalonia, precum Teatrul Naţional al Cataloniei (Jo sóc un altre!) şi Teatrul Lliure (Davant de l'home). Contra democraţiei a primit în 2012 premiul Serra d'Or pentru cea mai bună piesă a anului.

Sibiu International Theatre Festival announces a open call for application for two playwriting workshops with writers Sikorska-Miszczuk and Esteve Soler, held between 9^th -15^th June 2013, in Sibiu. The workshops are opened to anyone interested in writing plays or film scripts.

Deadline: 30^th May, 2013

We invite artists to submit a short C.V. with previous projects and an extract of 8-10 pages of a text that they have written (play, film script, novel, poetry), or a video link of a performance / film done by them. The applicants must have an adequate knowledge of English.

What is important to me above all is the issue of independent thinking. I strive for a thought process that deviates from the beaten path, goes its own way, and whose meanderings are unpredictable. I'm interested in new, fresh and surprising perspectives on the issue addressed in the play. I seek to approach the characters in unformulaic ways, to arrive at a novel form for the play as a whole, one in which the stage is full of imaginative new ideas.
Because I like writing and analysing real-life figures from history (hence dramas like The Death of the Squirrel Man / Ulrike Meinhof, Catherine de Medici, Bruno Schulz: The Messiah, Lost Czechoslovakia / Marta Kubisova, The Mayor / Krzysztof Godlewski, Popiełuszko) in the workshops, I want to examine the stages in thinking using the "think opposite" method. This will entail analysis and writing exercises based on examples of certain eminent persons ("heroes of our times," so to speak) from the world of politics, business and art.

Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk is a playwright and scriptwriter. She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science as well as the Gender Studies Program of the University of Warsaw. She is also a graduate of the Scriptwriting Program of the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź. She made her debut in 2004 with the play Psychotherapy for Dogs and Women at the Teatr Rozmaitości in Warsaw. Her works have been read and performed in numerous countries including Poland, Sweden, Germany, Austria and the USA - Loose Screws, The Death of the Squirrel Man, Catherine de Medici, The Mayor, The Suitcase, A Chocolate-Coated Man from Poland, Lost Czechoslovakia, Bruno Schulz: The Messiah, III Furies, Popiełuszko. Her plays have been translated into more than a dozen languages and staged by theatre directors such as Jan Klata, Marcin Liber or Michał Zadara. She has won numerous awards and distinctions, including the Grand Prix and the Audience Award in the 2008 Metaphors of Reality competition, the Grand Prix at the 2009 Dwa Teatry Festival in Sopot and the 2012 Prix Bohemia (Czech Republic). In 2012, she was awarded the prestigious Gdynia Drama Award for the play Popiełuszko.

During four days the students will learn the different and fascinating method of four playwrights that must be in the category of 'new classics'. At the same time, we are going to imitate their style in a series of exercises that will be show in front of an audience.

Esteve Soler is a playwright who trained at Barcelona's Institut del Teatre and at the Sala Beckett, where he gives classes on playwriting. Since 2008, the trilogy formed by his works Against progress, Against love and Against democracy has been translated into nine languages (English, French, German, Rumanian, Spanish, Greek, Italian, Danish and Czech), while nearly 40 directors have offered their own interpretations of the works in countries such as Germany, England, the United States, France, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Venezuela and Chile. He has formed part of the official sections of the Theatertreffen and Literaturfestival festivals, both held in Berlin, and of the French festival La Mousson d'Été (twice). Some of his other works have premiered at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (Jo sóc un altre!) and the Teatre Lliure (Davant de l'home). Against Democracy was awarded the 2012 Serra d'Or prize for best play of the year.
